I'd Love You To Want Me (Cover Version of Lobo)

I'd Love You To Want Me

"I'd Love You to Want Me" is the title of a popular song from 1972 by Lobo (the stage name of Kent LaVoie). He wrote the song, which appears on his album Of a Simple Man.

Released as a single in the fall of 1972, "I'd Love You to Want Me" was the singer's highest charting hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it spent two weeks at number two in November of that year.[2] It was kept from the top spot by Johnny Nash's hit song, "I Can See Clearly Now".[3] The song also spent one week at number one on the Billboard easy listening chart, LaVoie's second of four songs to achieve this feat.[4] It became a gold record.

When originally released in the United Kingdom in 1972, the song failed to reach the UK Singles Chart; however, a re-release of the single in 1974, on the UK label, peaked at #5.[5]

The song also topped music charts in Australia (Kent Music Report, two weeks), Canada (RPM Magazine, one week) and Germany (Media Control Charts, 13 weeks in 1973-1974).

The song was originally in B-flat major, a capo is used on the 3rd fret on the guitar.

Lyrics

When I saw you standing there
I about fell off my chair
When you moved your mouth to speak
I felt the blood go to my feet

Now it took time for me to know
What you tried so not to show
Something in my soul just cried
I see the want in your blue eyes

Baby, I'd love you to want me
The way that I want you, the way that it should be
Baby, you'd love me to want you
The way that I want to if you'd only let it be

You told yourself years ago
You'd never let your feelings show
The obligation that you made
For the title that they gave

Baby, I'd love you to want me
The way that I want you, the way that it should be
Baby, you'd love me to want you
The way that I want to if you'd only let it be

Now it took time for me to know
What you tried so not to show
But something in my soul just cried
I see the want in your blue eyes

Baby, I'd love you to want me
The way that I want you, the way that it should be
Baby, you'd love me to want you
The way that I want to if you'd only let it be, oh

Baby, I'd love you to want me
The way that I want you, the way that it should be
Baby, you'd love me to want you
The way that I want to if you'd only let it be

Ship (Cover Version of Barry Manilow)

Ship

This song was written by British musician  Ian Hunter When I came to know this song from singer  Barry Manilow for his sixth studio album, One Voice, Felt in love with it and often sing it every now and then.  The lyrics written here is also telling the story my relationship with my late beloved father too.  When I was in Berlin, Germany, I used to called home and he would pass the phone to my late beloved mommy.  Now both of them finally had departed from this Planet Earth and the lyrics expresses as follows ...

We're two ships that pass in the night
We both smile and we say it's alright
We're still here, it's just that we're out of sight
Like those ships that pass in the night

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Ships" is a rock ballad written and originally performed by British musician Ian Hunter. The song was first released on Hunter's fourth solo album, You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic in 1979.[1] The song is said to be about Hunter's relationship with his father.[2]

"Ships" was later recorded by singer Barry Manilow for his sixth studio album, One Voice. His version peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 on the Adult Contemporary chart.[3]

Song Lyrics

We walked to the sea
Just my father and me
And the dogs played around on the sand
Winter cold cut the air
Hangin' still everywhere
Dressed in gray, did he say hold my hand

I said, love's easier when it's far away
We sat and watched the distant light

We're two ships that pass in the night
We both smile and we say it's alright
We're still here, it's just that we're out of sight
Like those ships that pass in the night

There's a boat on the line
Where the sea meets the sky
There's another that rides far behind
And it seems you and I
Are like strangers, a wide ways apart
As we drift on through time

He said, it's harder now, we're far away
We only read you when you write

We're two ships that pass in the night
And we smile when we say it's alright
We're still here, it's just that we're out of sight
Like those ships that pass in the night

We're just ships that pass in the night
And we smile when we say it's alright
We're still here, it's just that we're out of sight
Like those ships that pass in the night

Endless Love (Cover Version of Lionel Richie and Diana Ross)

Endless Love

During my teenage period, I used to sing this song in the bathroom with a tape recorder on.  I sung alone with Lionel Richie and Diana Ross.  I did well at that time as I did my singing almost every night without fail. I do love singing and still singing till today.

"Endless Love" is a song written by Lionel Richie and originally recorded as a duet between Richie and fellow soul singer Diana Ross. In this ballad, the singers declare their "endless love" for one another. It was covered by soul singer Luther Vandross with R&B singer Mariah Carey and also by country music singer Shania Twain. Richie's friend (and sometimes co-worker) Kenny Rogers has also recorded the song. Billboard has named the original version as the greatest song duet of all-time.[1]

Ross and Richie recorded the song for Motown, and it was used as the theme for the Franco Zeffirelli's film adaptation of Scott Spencer's novel Endless Love. Produced by Richie and arranged by Gene Page, it was released as a single from the film's soundtrack in 1981. While the film Endless Love was a modest box-office success, the song became the second biggest-selling single of the year (first was "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes) in the U.S. and reached number 1 on the Hot 100, where it stayed for nine weeks from August 15 to October 10, 1981. It also topped the Billboard R&B chart and the Adult Contemporary chart, and reached number 7 in the UK.

The soulful composition became the biggest-selling single of Ross' career, and her 18th and final career number-one single (including her work with The Supremes). It also was Richie's highest charting single, and the first of several hits for Richie during the 1980s. Ross recorded a solo version of the song for her first RCA Records album, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, the duet version being her last hit on Motown. The song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for Richie, and was the second song with which Ross was involved that was nominated for an Oscar. It also won a 1982 American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Single.

Lyrics

My love
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's bright

My first love
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make

And I, I want to share
All my love with you
No one else will do

And your eyes (your eyes, your eyes)
They tell me how much you care
Ooh yes, you will always be
My endless love

Two hearts
Two hearts that beat as one
Our lives have just begun

Forever (ooh)
I'll hold you close in my arms
I can't resist your charms

And love (oh, love)
I'll be a fool for you, I'm sure
You know I don't mind
Oh, you know I don't mind

Because you
You mean the world to me, oh
I know, I know
I've found in you
My endless love

Boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, booom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom

Ooh, and love, oh, love
I'll be that fool for you, I'm sure
You know I don't mind
Oh you know I don't mind

And, yes
You'll be the only one
'Cause no one can deny
This love I have inside

And I'll give it all to you
My love
My love, my love
My endless love

A Different Corner (Cover Version of George Michael)

 A Different Corner ...

Finally this year 2017, George Michael had his last Christmas and he did really gave his heart to all of us whom still kicking asses on this Planet Earth.  The SHOCKING sad news came to us on Christmas Day which came to us as HUGE SURPRISES.  We have lost one of the most talented Musical Artist and charitable human beings.  I will continue sing his songs and might be singing more as the time goes by.  RIP and will stay in our heart always.  Gone but NEVER be forgotten till end of our breath ...

This was the first British #1 hit that featured an artist writing, singing, arranging, producing, and playing all the instruments on the song.

Michael said during the BBC One special for his concert at The Palais Garnier in 2014 about this tune, "I think you can tell that 'A Different Corner' is genuinely the sound of a man who's heart's been broken. I was 19 and the best critique I ever heard of that song was from a friend of mine who said, 'It's beautiful, pathetic, but beautiful.'"

This strong, reflective, mature ballad, awash with slowly pulsating keyboards, is totally different from the poppy sounds of Wham! At the time of its release in April 1986, George Michael was still part of the duo, but a few months later he and Andrew Ridgeley decided to split. This announcement was followed by an emotional farewell concert at Wembley Stadium in London, in front of 72,000 fans.

This was George Michael's first solo release in the US and his second solo release in the UK. (In the UK, "Careless Whisper" was credited to George Michael, whilst in America it was credited to Wham!). George Michael was the first solo act in the history of the UK chart to reach #1 with his first two releases.

"A Different Corner" is a song written and performed by George Michael which was released on Epic Records (Columbia Records in the U.S.) in 1986.

At the time of its release in April 1986, Michael was still a member of pop duo Wham! (the song is included on Wham!'s album Music from the Edge of Heaven only released in Japan and North America as well as their compilation album The Final released worldwide), though he and partner Andrew Ridgeley had announced that they would split in the summer after a farewell single, album and concert. Michael had already enjoyed a solo #1 in the UK Singles Chart in 1984 with "Careless Whisper", which was credited as Wham! featuring George Michael in the US.

After radio DJ Simon Bates first aired A Different Corner on Radio 1, he rated the song so highly that he immediately played it again from the beginning. Michael went back to the top of the UK chart with "A Different Corner", he became the first solo act in the history of the UK chart to reach #1 with his first two releases, although he was hardly an unknown or new act on either occasion due to his previous hits with Wham!. The song was also credited with being the second #1 (after "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder) which was written, sung, played, arranged, and produced by the same person.[citation needed] The song reached #7 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first single credited solely to Michael to become an American top-ten hit.

The song was also remixed for his compilation Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael. This version omitted the guitar and the chorus from Andrew Ridgeley.

I'd say love was a magical thing
I'd say love would keep us from pain
Had I been there, had I been there

I would promise you all of my life
But to lose you would cut like a knife
So I don't dare, no I don't dare

'Cause I've never come close in all of these years
You are the only one to stop my tears
And I'm so scared, I'm so scared

Take me back in time maybe I can forget
Turn a different corner and we never would have met
Would you care

I don't understand it, for you it's a breeze
Little by little you've brought me to my knees
Don't you care

No I've never come close in all of these years
You are the only one to stop my tears
And I'm so scared of this love

And if all that there is is this fear of being used
I should go back to being lonely and confused
If I could, I would, I swear

If I could, I would, I swear
